Sankranthi

Sankranthi, also known as Makara Sankranti, is one of the most significant harvest festivals celebrated across India. It marks the end of the winter solstice and the beginning of longer days, symbolizing prosperity, renewal, and gratitude for nature’s bounty. The festival honors farmers, the Sun God, and the agricultural cycle that sustains life.

Celebrated over multiple days Bhogi, Sankranthi, and Kanuma the festival brings families and communities together through traditional rituals, colorful rangoli (muggu), kite flying, folk music, dance, and festive foods prepared with freshly harvested crops. Sankranthi reflects the spirit of unity, cultural heritage, and thankfulness, making it a joyful occasion for people of all ages.

At MVICASA, Sankranthi is celebrated as a Harvest Festival, showcasing rich traditions, cultural performances, and community participation that strengthen bonds and preserve heritage for future generations in the community.
